Traveler Verification on Shiply

Shiply Egypt asks travelers to complete verification before committing to deliveries. The goal is to add identity and travel-context checks that customers can see as a trust signal—not to promise perfect outcomes on every deal.

Why Shiply verifies travelers

Cross-border deals involve money, travel, and physical goods. Verification is one layer—alongside deal payment protection, purchase proof, reviews, and dispute support—designed to reduce informal courier risk.

Customers should still read profiles, reviews, trip details, and deal terms carefully.

What travelers submit

The traveler verification flow asks for three document types:

  • A clear photo of your passport ID page
  • A selfie holding your passport next to your face (good lighting, no filters)
  • A flight ticket, booking confirmation, or itinerary for relevant travel

File basics

Uploads accept JPEG, PNG, WebP, or PDF, up to 4 MB per file. Submit readable files so reviewers can complete checks without unnecessary rejection cycles.

Review statuses you may see

After submission, verification is pending while Shiply reviews your documents manually. Timing varies with volume and document quality—Shiply does not publish a fixed SLA in product configuration.

Verified means your traveler verification was approved and the verified badge can appear in traveler contexts such as trips (the badge is global for that traveler). Rejected means you may need to correct issues and resubmit. Invalid means documents are missing or out of sync—follow on-screen instructions, which often means re-uploading all three files before committing to a delivery.

While review is pending or after approval, editing may be locked until Shiply rejects the submission or clears it for a new upload cycle.

What verification does not guarantee

Verification does not guarantee identity in every real-world scenario, lawful customs outcomes, on-time flights, product condition, or that a deal will complete successfully.

Shiply may approve, reject, or mark verification invalid when documents are incomplete, expired, or misleading, consistent with platform policies. Internal review criteria are not published in detail.

How to get started

Create an account, then open Publish a Trip (`/listings/new`). You can publish before verification, and Shiply will remind you how to start the signed-in verification flow. Verification is required before accepting a delivery request or sending a traveler offer, not for publishing a trip. For broader safety practices, read Trust & Safety and How It Works.
